The Champagny gondola lift provides access to the La Plagne ski area in approximately 10 minutes. It connects the village, at 1,250 m, to an area located at nearly 2,000 m altitude. More than 70% of the La Plagne ski area lies above 2,000 m, a significant advantage for skiing throughout the winter season.
The chosen package then determines the extent of the playing field: stay in La Plagne or continue towards Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry via the Vanoise Express.

Courchevel and Les 3 Vallées 15 minutes from Champagny?
For those who love high-performance skiing, Le Praz de Courchevel is about a 15-minute drive from Champagny. With a separate 3 Valleys ski pass, the day can then be extended to include Courchevel, Méribel, Les Menuires, and Val Thorens. 3. Family skiing: organizing the days, not just the accommodations

The ESF ski school in Champagny offers lessons for children and adults. For younger children, the Piou Piou Club welcomes 3-5 year olds. An important point to know is practical: the departure and return locations may differ. Morning group lessons start at the base of the gondola and finish at the summit; other lessons generally take place at the summit, except for the Piou Piou Club when it operates at the base.

At 1,500 m, the Champagny-le-Haut valley changes character. A natural site classified since 1992 and gateway to the Vanoise National Park, it brings together traditional hamlets, a wilder landscape and a program different from alpine skiing.
The Nordic area, with 23 km of groomed trails for skating and classic cross-country skiing, is ideal for this sport. Snowshoeing, sledding, Nordic activities, the Espace Glacialis, and the Ice Tower offer plenty of options for those who don't want to spend every day on the ski lifts.

5. Winter 2026-2027: Choose the week that suits you
Christmas and New Year's are ideal for large gatherings. January often offers more flexibility. February coincides with school holidays in several regions and requires more planning. March and early spring allow you to enjoy longer days, while carefully checking the opening status of the area you plan to visit.
Ski calendar to remember
The La Plagne ski area is scheduled to be open from December 12, 2026 to April 24, 2027. The Champagny sector is scheduled to be open until April 17, 2027. Actual opening dates remain subject to operating and snow conditions.

Lodge Alouette: the charm of the village, for families or small groups of friends

A master bedroom, a bedroom with two bunk beds, and a living area with a kitchen form the heart of the Lodge. For up to six people, the sofa bed in the living room provides two additional sleeping spaces. The balcony offers views of the village and the surrounding peaks; a shower room, a separate toilet, and a boot dryer complete the amenities.

Chalet Alouette: a characterful Savoyard house for getting together
Sleeps up to 12 people · 167 m² · 4 bedrooms + mezzanine · 4 bathrooms · ski room + sauna
Charpente en bois, deux cheminées et espaces pour cuisiner, dîner ou jouer : cette maison de village savoyarde réunit le groupe au retour du ski.
The sleeping arrangements allow you to prepare for the week before arrival: three bedrooms with 160cm double beds, one bedroom with four 90cm bunk beds, and another 160cm double bed in the open mezzanine. Bed linen and towels are provided. A washing machine, dryer, and boot dryer make group stays easier.
New for winter 2026-2027: the new ski room with sauna
Au retour du ski, déposez le matériel, faites sécher les chaussures et profitez du sauna avant le dîner. Ce nouveau ski-room avec sauna concerne uniquement le Chalet ; livraison prévue fin novembre 2026 pour la saison.

7. Come to Champagny and prepare the practical details
Train, car, last mile
By train, the main station for Champagny-en-Vanoise is Moûtiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains. The last connection to the village is by bus or taxi; the S66 line runs between Moûtiers and Champagny. By car, access is via Albertville and then Moûtiers before the ascent to the village. In winter, check road conditions and required equipment before setting off.
Ski equipment and instructions
The accommodations are not ski-in/ski-out. The gondola lift is approximately 300 meters away, about a five-minute walk depending on the group's pace and conditions. Shops at the base of the lifts offer ski storage solutions to avoid carrying equipment every day; these can be booked separately, subject to availability.

8. Useful questions to ask before booking
At what altitude is Champagny-en-Vanoise located?
The village is situated at an altitude of 1,250 meters, on the southern slope of La Plagne, significantly lower than the higher-altitude resorts. This preserves a genuine village atmosphere and, weather permitting, the pleasure of relaxing on the terraces in the village square. Families with infants are welcome: a travel cot and high chair are available. As with any stay with a very young child, altitude remains a factor that parents should consider depending on their specific circumstances.
Is Champagny part of La Plagne or Paradiski?
Champagny provides access to the La Plagne ski area. With the Paradiski pass, you can extend your skiing to Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry via the Vanoise Express.
Do you need to be twelve people to book the Chalet?
No. Twelve is its maximum capacity. A smaller group can choose the house for its space and layout.
Is the sauna in both accommodations?
No. The new ski room with sauna is a new feature planned exclusively for the Chalet for the winter of 2026-2027.
Can we bring a dog?
Please mention any pets before booking to confirm the conditions for hosting the chosen accommodation.
Are packages, courses and activities included?
